Scholarships for Adult Non-Traditional Students
The Hamilton Community Foundation is pleased to be able to provide scholarships for adults returning to college. A non-traditional student is defined as someone at least 25 years of age returning to pursue a post secondary degree.
Please download the list of scholarships available and review the criteria. Complete one application and indicate which scholarships for which you wish to be considered. Scholarships are based on need unless indicated in scholarship description.
2012 Adult Scholarship Application | 2012 Available Adult Scholarships
Eligibility
To qualify, you must:
- Be a resident of the City of Hamilton – unless otherwise indicated in criteria
- Plan to attend an accredited technical school, college or university as either a full time or part time student
Demonstrate financial need - Previous recipients are encouraged to reapply, but are not guaranteed additional awards
Students receiving full reimbursement from an employer are NOT eligible
New applicants
- Complete ONE application
- Include typed essay as requested in the application
- Include a copy of most recent college transcript (official transcript only)
- Include copy of Student Financial Aid Award Letter
- Include Estimated Family Contribution form as a result of filing the FAFSA
Renewing Applicants
If you received one of the nontraditional scholarships in 2011, you may reapply, however you must:
- Complete a new application
- Have earned a 2.5 or better GPA
- Include a copy of most recent college transcript (official transcript only)
- Include copy of Student Financial Aid Award Letter
- Include Estimated Family Contribution form as a result of filing the FAFSA
- Include a brief essay describing your college experience
- Please keep copies of all documents for your records.
