Harry T. Wilks
The Harry T. Wilks – Hamilton Celebrates Education Program was created as a result of philanthropist Harry Wilks’ passion for assisting our educators. Mr. Wilks is a longtime local attorney, real estate investor and philanthropist. He has demonstrated an interest in education with generous gifts throughout the community.
The Harry T. Wilks Hamilton Celebrates Education Program is designed to celebrate the dedication and performance of all educators throughout the city of Hamilton.
Hamilton Celebrates Education Grant Program
Each year in May, educators from Hamilton public and parochial schools (K-12) are encouraged to submit applications for funding innovative programs. Up to seven grants ranging from $500-$1000 are awarded to a school to fund their creative proposals. There is no limit to the number of applications that a school may submit to the Hamilton Celebrates Education Grant Program.

Educator of Excellence Award
Additionally, five exemplary educators are selected and one of the five receives the Educator of Excellence Award and $3,000 to be used in the school or throughout the district. The other finalists each receive $500 for their school projects. All schools should complete an application nominating one individual for the Educator Excellence of Award.
It is up to each individual school to develop a plan for nominating their candidate. It is highly encouraged that each school forms a committee to complete the application detailing their candidate’s qualifications.
