Women and Philanthropy Report

“This fund presents a unique opportunity for women in our community to step into the role of philanthropist. It is a chance for women to help other women, building stronger individuals and a better community
-Joan Witt, Women’s Fund Committee Chair
The Women’s Fund is an increasingly powerful force for women in the Hamilton area. The Fund not only raises money for women’s programs, but seeks to involve as many women as possible in both the raising and distribution of funds.
The Women’s Endowment Fund of the Hamilton Community Foundation was established in 1997 as a fund committed to promote philanthropy among women and to establish a permanent, expanding endowment dedicated to the needs of women and girls in Butler County. Grant making provides assistance to programs which encourage the advancement and full participation of women and girls in the community, help them achieve their full potential, and create opportunities for economic, educational and personal growth.
The endowment has grown to more than $190,000 and the fund has awarded nearly $40,000 in grants.
