Investment Strategy

The Foundation’s capacity to serve the community is directly tied to our ability to preserve and enhance our financial assets. To ensure that the goals of the Foundation continue to be met, the Board of Trustees has developed investment policies and guidelines that provide for prudent asset management. An investment committee, comprised of board members and volunteers who are knowledgeable in the investment field, oversees the investment activities of the Foundation.

Investment Options

We offer a variety of investment options and strategies to help each donor meet his or her charitable giving objectives. Many financial institutions work with the Foundation to carefully invest the assets entrusted to them.  Under the guidance of the Investment Committee, the funds are prudently invested in a balanced portfolio that produces funds for grantmaking while providing for asset growth and security of principal. Additionally, our Investment Committee, comprised of leading community experts, meet routinely to review investment policy and performance.

Financial Information

As a public charity, the Hamilton Community Foundation makes a point of operating in an open manner that welcomes scrutiny.  We take our obligation to donors, community groups and the public-at-large very seriously.  Accordingly, our federal tax returns (Form 990 & 990T if filed), audited financial statements, investment managers/fees, and other related documents are available by contacting the Foundation office at 513-863-1717.
