Mission/Vision

YPC Meeting

The mission of the Youth Philanthropy Committee  is to:

  • Educate our youth about philanthropy and the role of philanthropy in the community.
  • Enhance the decision making skills of young people.
  • Provide a forum for youth interests, needs and problems.
  • Commit resources to youth serving programs.
  • Involve youth in both volunteerism and philanthropy.

Our vision statement is:
Youth striving to improve the quality of life in our community by promoting education, donating time, and making decisions, which will enhance youth awareness of the benefits of charitable giving.

Goals:

The Youth Philanthropy Committee’s goals are to:

  • Examine and prioritize needs of youth in the greater Hamilton area.
  • Develop practical approaches to addressing those needs.
  • Review grant proposals and make recommendations to the Hamilton Community  Foundation Board of Trustees.
  • Develop and encourage youth involvement in philanthropy and volunteerism.

The Hamilton Community Foundation Youth Philanthropy Committee is made up of 24 area high school students who make recommendations to the Foundation about grants supporting programs to benefit young people in the Butler County area.

In order to make recommendations that best meet the needs and interests of young people, we ask area high school students to assist us by completing our needs assessment.  By completing the survey it is a quick way to give your input on important issues facing young people in Butler County and the types of programs you think are needed in the community.
