What’s the most lasting and best way to give back to your community?
Establish a fund at the Hamilton Community Foundation… it is simple and easy!
There are four simple steps to create a fund at the Hamilton Community Foundation
- Define your charitable goals. Decide if you want family members involved, both now and/or in the future. Consider how much involvement you want in selecting the charitable organizations that will receive grants from your fund. Think about how much you want to give in charitable contributions each year.
- Contact the Foundation to discuss the types of funds or options that best suit your interests and needs. We can create a personalized plan, including the appropriate legal and other documentation, which makes giving simple and relevant.
- Determine which asset or giving vehicle you will use to start your fund. Evaluate the options of lifetime assets versus planned giving assets—or a combination of the two.
- Select a name for your fund. Many donors choose a family name, a name that honors or memorializes a loved one or a company name.
The Community Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) 3 organization, and as such is exempt from federal income tax; donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. We’ll work with your trusted professional advisor to design the charitable giving solution that’s right for you. You’ll enjoy the financial, personal and community benefits of strategic giving.
